I Wish I Was an Apple

So, first update in quite a while, eh? well, I'll enlighten you to my schedule this year, i guess. I have AP Bio, Honors English, US History, Comp Sci, Honors Pre-Calc, and Adv Choir. Busy, yet good times.

In other news, their trying to fire me again. Steps have been taken to prevent this, but nonetheless, sympathy is appreciated.

Oh, and my throat hurts. Goodbye.

Six dollars poorer, and a lesson well learned

I finished my AP Bio summer work a few days ago, a fully typed 48-pages of notes on animal and plant systems. To celebrate, I proceeded to my local "Half Priced" bookstore, which also happens to sell video games. I purchased a game and went about my daily errands. I opened the box several hours later, and it was empty. I went back to the store and the kindly let me exchange it for another. I brought the game home, and turns out, it sucks. I had, of course, lost the receipt, so that by my third trip to pick up a decent game "Neverwinter Nights Gold," for those who care, I was out approximatly six dollars and fifty cents. I mark it as a learning experience; always keep the reciept and always check the box.

Forget about me, stay with the car!

If anyone touches the car, katana their hands off. Don't even say anything. Just chop off their hands.

In other news, I hate the Oakland school district. Turns out they've passed up to me a student in 7th grade with 1st grade language skills. Fucking wonderful. Oh well, the district is dirt broke, so it's really not their fault. They’ve been packing her into classes with 35+ students, all thanks to No Child Left Behind.

For those of you who don't know, Oakland Unified was one of the districts raped by No Child Left Behind. The program set ridiculously high standards for schools, and then cut funds for schools that didn't meet them. Then again, what does one expect from an Education Administrator with less qualifications than your average high school English teacher? It's true. She used to be Dubya's Head advisor back in the governor days. All the education she has is a bachelor's in Poli Sci. The minimum to teach high school English is 2 semesters of Graduate school studying education.

Who knows, maybe it's all part of Dubya's scheme to destroy public education. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

That's..... Interesting?

So, now I'm banned from DeviantART. Fun. I wonder who I pissed off? Oh well, 'tis of no concern.

Inflammable means what now?

This was my breakfast this morning. I put two waffles in the toaster oven and went to check my e-mail. When I came back, the toaster was on fire. I unplugged the toaster and threw water on it. I've decided against having waffles for quite some time.

Bobby Pin of Judgement

Well, I'm back from my trip to good old Los Angeles. It was a fun time down there. Met some great people and learned a lot.

My room-mate was particularly an interesting guy. He had a girl back home but was thinking about cheating on her while he was at NYLF. While we were discussing it, he was stabbed by one of his girlfriend's bobby pins that she had accidently left in his pants. The omen of it scared him pretty bad.

As for the picture, that's me after sticking my head in a mister at Universal Studios. Very nice.

Welcoming Committee

Well, here we are, at my snazzy new blog. I like this service, a lot more functionality than LJ or myspace. I think I'll stick with it.

I just got back from camp recently, Urban Mission. Lots of good times, I miss everyone from camp already. Pathetic, no? I've decided to volunteer at one of the places we stayed, helping low-income kids with math homework. It's fun work, and it keeps me thinking my life isn't completely worthless. Oh, and the picture on the left is of me. Yes, I am covered in paint, paint that was supposed to go on the house we were painting at a rescue mission in Richmond. Long story. I blame Hannah, mostly.
